Primary Duties:
- To ensure that all non‐destructive testing and related activities are executed safely, effectively, and efficiently in accordance with applicable technical documentations, company policies and procedures.
- To manage the project NDT process and support in the development of the Quality Management System, monitoring and providing support to quality assurance team.
- Support the NDT service providers & team and wider Quality Control Team to ensure continual Quality improvement, and recognition as a leader in in‐house NDT processes and methods.
- Manage the project NDT requirement and ensure that contractual obligations and responsibilities are fulfilled in all instances in accordance with approved procedures. Prepare standing instructions, interpret codes, standards, specifications and determine the most appropriate examination method and applicable procedure to be used. Conduct necessary verification/root cause analysis, and invention of techniques in the event of defect identification.
- Ensure NDT operations are undertaken by qualified Technician in accordance with the NDT requirements, with capability to identify potential problematic areas, explore practical approach to resolution of problems as may be noted in materials, fabrication, and product technology, including preparation of NDT method statements & technical instructional sheets, and timely reporting.
- Develop, Qualify, and approve written procedures ensuring full compliance with all company HSEQ Procedures as well as the Saudi Aramco.
- Responsible for review and approval of techniques by NDT subcontractor, and when necessary (where sub‐contract in not required) shall be responsible for qualification and approval of NDT techniques for the company.
- Assist the project team in establishing acceptance criteria, where none are otherwise available.
- Conduct & monitor eye test for all QC performing NDT & Inspection.
- Responsible for the training, examination, qualification and / or re‐evaluation of NDT personnel in accordance with company written practice for qualification of NDT personnel. Maintain qualification records of all Technicians & Inspectors. Plan and execute a comprehensive training program for all QC Inspectors & NDT Tech, and conduct periodic random cross‐check of NDT performed on site with program to cover applicable NDT methods (AUT, UT, MPI, PT, VT, RT & RT film digitization)
- Verify special processes and the relevant workers’ qualifications, supervise actual training and administration of certification examinations which may be delegated to other individuals or outside Agencies as may be approved by NDT Level III.
- Act as an advisory to the Inspection team with regards to optimizing NDT surveys.
- Maintaining interface with the Client and project team to ensure that all contractual and code requirements are met as far as the inspection scope is concerned.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.
Secondary Duties:
- Reports to QC Manager and responsible for the discharge of his duties and responsibilities as NDT coordinator as along his area discipline assignment.
- Coordinates with Production Units or construction manager for the required NDE/ QC Inspections during the work process.
Qualifications:
- B.E Graduate Engineer, Postgraduate or Diploma
- Valid professional qualification in the following:
- AUT interpretation and NDT Level‐lll, Aramco approved
- ASNT NDT Level III qualification in MT, PT, UT, RT, and AUT preferably, and consideration for equivalent schemes that support easy implementation of company written practice.
- Additional Level III methods will be considered added advantage.
- ISO 9001:2015 Auditor of Lead Auditor Certification.
- In‐depth Knowledge of root cause failure analysis techniques, inspection technique, conversant with codes and standards relevant to the performance of non‐destructive testing and interpretation.
- Communicate (written & oral) in the English language with confidence.
- Excellent listening skills, assertiveness, and ability to coach subordinates.
- Physically fit and able to work in extreme climatic conditions.
- Able to perceive the mood of a customer or subcontractor and react appropriately.
- Able to read, understand and interpret Engineering drawings.
- Resilience under stress
- Demonstrate ability to listen to the views of others and respond in a logical and well‐thought‐out manner.
- Good knowledge of Quality Management System
- Excellent knowledge of documentation, computer operation, procedures & applicable ERP systems
- Minimum of 8~10 years’ experience, relating NDT especially in AUT.
